Questions and questions-about-questions
When you’re coaching someone else, you are acting as a thinking partner. Your questions are imperative to the process of thinking together. Some questions are more powerful than others because they quite simply require answers that reveal more – deeper, hidden thinking. Powerful questions often generate long silences or Pause-Points™ such as ‘That’s a great question’. Also watch out for the unconscious attempt to avoid the question: ‘Wow, what made you think of that question?’ Be a strong coach and keep them focused.
