43 Narrative coaching – Part 4: Redesigning the GROW model as the 4th generation coaching for people and the planet
Ho Law
Abstract
This paper reflects and reviews the formulation of the GROW model in relation to narrative coaching in response to the climate change crisis, the socio-cultural and technological paradigms. It proposes a new coaching model by redesigning the GROW process and integrating it with the narrative coaching process. It argues that the new model called ROGWin can be regarded as the fourth generation coaching (4GC) in terms of the evolution of coaching psychology as a professional discipline. Its implications for future research and practice, including technological advances such as artificial intelligence (AI), and coaching’s role in the wider world and its environment, are discussed.
