If only software grew like a plant. You’d put the seed of an idea into some fertile programming soil, add a little water, and wait. You’d tend it carefully: Fertilize it, keep it in good light, and cover it to keep the birds off. In time, a code seedling would sprout, and when the program plant was big enough, you could release it to the world.
