Abbreviation cipher
A method that replaces each word of a text with its first letter or a different abbreviation of it.
American Cryptogram Association (ACA)
A nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting the hobby and art of codebreaking. The ACA publishes a bimonthly newsletter titled The Cryptogram.
Aristocrat
A simple substitution cipher where word divisions and punctuation are retained.
ASCII code
The acronym for American Standard Code for Information Interchange. ASCII is a standardized way of representing letters, numbers, and punctuation in binary digits, which are the zeros and ones that computers can understand.
