Networking a Coding Community

To further ensure the success of your learners, in this chapter we’ll explore community building efforts you can promote at your school to encourage a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment. Research indicates that students who feel connected to their school community are more likely to exhibit altruistic behaviors, be more academically driven, and develop improved social-emotional skills. The activities and programs covered here are intended to foster a sense of belonging and accomplishment for your students. They’ll also involve constructing a support system that will hopefully extend beyond the school walls and into the local community.
