Cognitive Information Systems

Abstract

This chapter presents new generation systems referred to as cognitive systems. Their special feature is the semantic analysis of data collected in the system and processed by it. The essence of this solution is assessing the impact of the analyzed datasets on broadly discussed phenomena, situations, states, etc. This chapter will present cognitive information systems, starting with their definition, through discussing the perception models associated with information analysis processes, classifying cognitive systems, and all the way to presenting the ways in which decisions are taken by the presented class of information systems.
