EVALUATING IMAGE QUALITY, PRINT QUALITY & TEST PAGES

 

 

 

Before we start looking at how to calibrate and profile displays, scanners, digital cameras, and printers in the next few chapters, we first need to build our skills at analyzing and testing image and print quality. In this chapter we will start looking at our images and prints for the inevitable problems they might have and opportunities for improving them. We need to need to be able to both detect and communicate about the different aspects of image quality, so that you have the critical eye and the necessary vocabulary to make the best prints possible.
