Like so much terminology in the complex and ambiguous world of criminological study, this author acknowledges that for many readers the term ‘cyber terrorism’ remains an essentially contestable concept with several meanings and nuances. (Show me a criminology term that isn’t?!) This book’s purpose was not to prove this phrase’s validity or literal interpretation, although the definitions provided within chapter 1 are surely helpful and have underpinned this publication’s content. For those that remain cautiously cynical, hopefully this author has at least established that alongside digital media and other evolutions in advanced tech, one clear consequence has been the arrival of a much higher level of generalised terror threat. ...
