2.1 Incel and misogynist

In many countries, extremist ‘incel’ activity is seen as an emerging and expanding terrorism threat. A shortening of the phrase ‘involuntary celibate’, incel terrorism is also known as ‘misogynist’ or ‘male supremacist’ violent extremism. Dozens of lethal attacks have been launched that have distinct misogynist motivations perpetrated principally by males who contain a deep-seated hatred for women. Shootings at Cleveland public library during 1984 conducted by Kent Malcolm were perhaps the first such killing spree attack acknowledged explicitly as ‘misogynist’ motivated in contemporary US history (Web Archive: 1985).
