Example 7.4 Modifying an Indexed Master Data Set in Place When Both the Master and Transaction Data Sets Contain Duplicate Key Values
Goal
Modify in place a master data set with information from a second data set. The master data set is indexed. Both data sets can contain duplicates of the key variables. Update an observation in the master data set with information from all matching observations in the transaction data set. No variables will be added or removed from the master data set and no changes will be made to the descriptor portion of the master data set.
