07Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015
The Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 (abbreviated to the CDM Regulations) are the regulations for managing the health, safety and welfare of construction projects.
The CDM Regulations place a duty on the client to make suitable arrangements for managing a project, including making sure that other duty holders are appointed (i.e. the principal designer and principal contractor) and that sufficient time and resources are allocated. Clients must also make sure that relevant information is prepared and provided to the other duty holders; that the principal designer and principal contractor carry out their duties; and that welfare facilities are provided.
