6Where Can Blockchain Technology Be Applied?

We have covered a lot of information about how Blockchain technology can be used, the different types of Blockchain solutions and how Blockchain solves the biggest organizational challenges.

It is important to remember that Blockchain technology is not a solution to all problems in your organization; there are many other solutions which can be applied. I will discuss how artificial intelligence, the internet of things (IoT), and process automation are all important emerging technologies. Importantly, these will be made even more useful when they are put together with Blockchain technology – I will discuss this exciting area in a later chapter.

I now want to talk through where Blockchain can be applied, and importantly, the challenges and issues around Blockchain adoption.

Please note that these examples are not exhaustive; they are designed to give you some areas to start to look at – areas where implementing Blockchain technology will help you improve your organization in some way.

I have purposely left out the use cases for government and communities, for a couple of reasons: (1) government (despite my being a government advisor) is not my area of expertise – commercial business is my area, and (2) all of the use cases I discuss can be applied to government and community use cases.
