The next time you order a cup of coffee, read a news story about China's growing economy, or simply turn on your air conditioner during a hot summer night, take time to consider the impact that your actions and the actions of millions of people across the globe have on the commodity markets. You should now have a much better understanding of the makeup and functions of commodity markets, the various supply and demand factors that impact commodity prices, and how prevalent this commodity bullmarket is in our daily lives.
Throughout this book, I have had one chief aim: to write about commodities in a simple and easy-to-understand manner that would be relevant and convincing for the average investor. I continuously asked myself: Does this point make sense to the reader who has yet to participate in the commodity markets? Does this rationale make sense to the reader who may have some misgivings about participating? I even had people who had no prior knowledge of the commodity markets read the manuscript, so I could make sure that what I was trying to communicate came across in a convincing yet clear manner.
