Strategy, especially strategy for business, has proven to be a lucrative market for those tasked with developing, writing about, and talking about strategy. Disruptive innovation, blue ocean strategy, fast follower innovation, and incremental innovation all represent terms and ideas that have champions, critics, books, and large audiences. These different ideas and tactics clearly do offer value to management teams across a wide variety of industries, but that is not the particular focus of our conversation.
