Hidden Challenge #4: Settling for “Good Enough”

OUR FINAL HIDDEN CHALLENGE to unearth and do something about is a common tendency to do just enough to get by in communication. The risk to stretch beyond Settling may be acceptable once weighed, yet we don’t invest ourselves as much as we could. This avoidance is not new; it connects all four hidden challenges.

When we’re Hiding from Risk, we avoid seeing our weak spots so we duck out of feedback. When we’re Defining to Be Right, we avoid admitting bias or are overly sure of ourselves, which limits our inclusiveness.
