A FRAME SYSTEM FORCOMMUNICATING

Based upon the frame theory outlined in Chapter 1, we now turn to developing a frame system of communication, representing the underlying assumptions we bring to bear when interacting with others. But how these assumptions are enacted in any situation will reflect the cultural values of the participants, as well as the context(s) of interaction. As mentioned previously, it is important to fully articulate our models and assumptions about communicating and organizing in order to fully appreciate their synthesis in our integration of Goffman and Giddens.
