Leadership Is About Relationships

Being a leader implies that there is at least one person who acts as a follower and there may be many. A leader’s followers could range from one or two individuals who report directly to the leader to all the members of a Fortune 500–sized organization below the CEO level. However, leadership is very personal, and a good way to view being a leader is at the one-on-one or leader–follower level, and the relationship between the leader and follower.
