When I went on the O’Reilly platform, I was astonished to find all the books there, plus live events and sandboxes so you could play around with the technology.I’ve been on the O’Reilly platform for more than eight years. I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
6Making Friends
Whether it's just a minute waiting for an elevator with a colleague or a few hours sat next to a friend's cousin at a wedding, with some people you feel comfortable talking to them and conversation just seems to flow quite naturally. But with others, it's not so easy; trying to engage the other person is like pushing a piano uphill; it's hard work. What to say? What to ask? How to respond? What if there's an awkward silence?
Small talk can be a big challenge. It doesn't come easily to all of us. It can be difficult enough to screw up your courage and initiate small talk, let alone keep a conversation going.
Perhaps you worry that you'll come across as weird or dull and the other person won't want to engage with you. But maybe ...
