So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

What is the future for this communications industry that is rapidly becoming more complicated and confusing? In spite of an apparent recessionary period, the developments continue to proceed at a pace where change seems to be driven by change. The convergence towards multimedia continues to gather pace and who knows what will be included under this umbrella by the turn of the century? Today it is possible to roam the world armed only with a personal telephone and a computer that provides access to a video camera, modem and global positioning processor and still remain in communication with anywhere else on earth and beyond.
