41 Wire-less distribution systems
There are many areas where it is impossible to receive either television images or stereo radio satisfactorily. Often these are located in valleys and represent small communities which make it uneconomic for the services to be provided by the national systems. Additionally, there are many areas of towns and cities where it is not economical or even feasible to bury some sections of a cable network. A system known variously as Multichannel Multipoint Distribution Services or Multichannel Microwave Distribution Services (MMDS) has been developed and used in the USA and Canada to provide broadband services, and provides an effective solution to these problems.
