Within weeks of the pandemic’s first travel advisories, Delta Air Lines launched an entirely new Global Cleanliness Division. General Motors, in the space of a single month, retooled its automotive factory lines to manufacture respiratory ventilators. Unilever wasn’t even making hand sanitizer in the US market when the pandemic struck. Six weeks later, the company was delivering a new product to stores.
