Chapter 3. Motherboard Components

In this chapter we’ll talk about one of the core components of a desktop computer—the guts of the computer—the motherboard (system board). Everything connects to the motherboard, so it stands to reason that proper planning and design of a desktop PC, to a certain degree, starts with this component. Within these pages you learn how to specify and install motherboards and discover some of the considerations to take into account when building the core of a PC.
