The operating system (OS) enables you to store, organize, and retrieve data files—working with files is one of its primary functions. Your primary hard drive contains a ton of files, files that make up the OS, the apps, and the data. You can replace the OS and apps pretty easily, but the data needs protection. This chapter looks at organizing, manipulating, and backing up data.
