Wireless Networking

Wireless networking is the transmission of packetized data by means of a physical topology that does not use direct physical links. This definition can be narrowed to apply to networks that use radio waves to carry the signals over either public or private bands, instead of using standard network cabling. Some proprietary applications like long-distance microwave network links use point-to-point technology with narrowband radios and highly directional antennas.
