Health, as the United Nations puts it, is everyone's business. No matter your status, where you are on the planet, your profession, or any other demographic you can think of, at some point in your life health and well‐being will play a major role. They're quite simply apex priorities, so it's essential to find new ways to foster positive outcomes in a changing world.
Given that leaders have an exceptional ability to influence outcomes, they need to take charge and move past pre‐pandemic initiatives, such as onsite gyms in an offsite world. They need to use data and tech to boost employee health and well‐being “anywhere, anytime.” This is an opportunity to create and leverage a robust and flexible workforce to outmaneuver and outpace the competition. It's also a grand opportunity to improve the quality of life of billions of people around the globe, which is the highest goal any leader can strive for in business and society.
This chapter explores how you can succeed with all of the above using computational leadership science (CLS). As with the previous chapters, we'll first have a look at what we know (and don't know), this time about creating a happier and healthier society.
