Chapter 7 Animation and the Examination of Behavior Over Time

ANIMATION PROVIDES THE important ability to visualize behavior as it changes in time and space. This chapter discusses the technical issues of animation in visualization, including the representation of motion, object and observer behavior in animation, and computer graphics issues in generating animated sequences.

Many of the practical issues in producing animated sequences of behavior are examined, including presentation and timing issues, online and offline frame capture methods, and interfacing with film, video and multimedia.
