Field Change Process

Abstract

Important field change issues concerning CM and the senior management. Not all changes should be retrofit. Only noninterchangeable changes should be considered and not all of them should be retrofit. The change process must include the field change order (FCO) decisions in order to assure a wise choice as to which changes to retrofit and to determine the complete cost of the change. Recalls must be given extraordinary treatment. The kit of parts should contain a copy of the FCO and possibly a self-addressed postcard. The design engineer is not the best choice for FCO writing. A technician who is not familiar with the change should draft the field change and a different technician should install one ...
