Monitoring DB2
DB2 supplies a snapshot monitor to provide information about UDB behavior. The Snapshot Monitor can be invoked either by the Control Center, db2cc, a powerful graphical tool (Java-based as of DB2 UDB V6.1) that supports both monitoring and general database administration, or by commands to be executed by the DB2 command-line processor.
Underlying the monitoring tools is a series of switches that allow selective monitoring of the main DB2 subsystems. Information can be gathered about an instance, a database, tablespaces, tables, and database connections.
Switches can be turned on or off to monitor bufferpools (BUFFERPOOL), locks (LOCK), sort activity (SORT), SQL statements (STATEMENT), tables (TABLE), and unit of work (UOW) activity. ...
