Introduction to TPC-D, TPC-R, and TPC-H

The decision-support benchmark—TPC-D—originally released by the TPC has been superseded by two new benchmarks: TPC-H and TPC-R. Since the new benchmarks have their roots in TPC-D, all three are worth discussing.

TPC-D

The TPC-D V1 workload simulated a decision-support environment, specifically, a warehouse-based distribution operation. It comprised 17 complex queries and small-scale business data updates (inserts and deletes).
