Posting Amount Defaults and Tolerance Groups

Now that the entire chart of accounts configuration has taken place, it is time to start thinking about posting transactions in the system. The next step is to set up posting amount defaults. Posting amount defaults are stored in tolerance groups. Tolerance groups, in turn, are assigned to user IDs. You will need to do a careful analysis of the various tolerance groups that you will need in the system. This process should be part of the overall security and authorization setup of your system. If a tolerance is not explicitly assigned in a user ID, the tolerance group defaults to the group Null (empty) for the company code.
