The Operating Concern
If you have chosen to implement either account-based or costing-based Profitability Analysis (CO-PA), you must configure an operating concern. The operating concern is the main organizational unit within CO-PA. It is utilized as a management tool to analyze specific markets or business segments. As with the controlling area, we will complete the configuration in two steps. With this first step, you will establish a name and description for the operating concern. We’ll show how to do the complete configuration in Chapter 12, “Profitability Analysis.”
