Emerging Pedagogic Practices in Mathematics

Although mathematics has been studied for years, mathematics education is an area of concern even today. In spite of the vast amount of changes in curriculum at all levels of schools recommended by various committees, we are still working with the emphasis on procedural knowledge as a primary instructional pattern. We are still struggling to set up experimentation, discover learning and hands-on experiences with concrete material against the memorization and recitation of the formulated definitions for mathematics lessons.
