The broadcaster and designer Kevin McCloud founded HAB (Happiness Architecture Beauty) in 2007. He was very frustrated with the quality of British housing and wanted to ‘challenge the way that identikit housing is built in the UK’.2
The team includes Isabel Allen, former editor of the Architects’ Journal, and Mike Roberts, sustainable development consultant and UK Green Building Council ambassador. Haboakus was a joint venture between HAB and Green Square Housing Group, and forms a framework through which housing schemes can be produced.
