In Ukraine`s country profile, the Freedom House Research Institute defines the state of Ukrainian civil society as “flourishing” which, following the post-Maidan reforms and rapid development of the media landscape, shows “Ukraine’s promise as an open and pluralistic democracy” (Freedom House n.d.).
