As part of an integrated, innovative and interconnected agenda, the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) forum − comprising twenty-one Pacific Rim member economies that promote free trade throughout the Asia-Pacific region – has for some time recognized the pivotal role of women-led enterprises in the development and prosperity of the region (APEC, 2011).
