Phase 2 Activities: Communicate
The goal in Phase 2 of the Phases of Engagement model is to begin the process of developing trust and increasing interaction between students. By beginning interaction with just one other student, the learner is encouraged to share ideas and begin to explore the content of the course. Communication is the key word for this stage. Beginning to share ideas, discuss differing views, and arrive at a compromise on partner postings are key components of effective student engagement at this point in the course.
