Educating Educators

Over time, I have come to understand my role to be as an educator of educators. The key is to make the concepts “educatable.” If there is any magic in this approach, that's it. That's my magic trick and should be yours.

Readers of this book should now see themselves as educators and, with practice, build competence to educate others. It's my journey to now.

If you are a family member, you educate your siblings, parents, grandparents, children, etc. If you are an advisor, you educate those with whom you work, so that you can educate those you serve. If you are a professor, you should be better equipped to stand in front of your classes and impart the knowledge I have collated here.

Though there are literally thousands of ways to approach the dissemination of the knowledge in these pages, the purpose of this section is to share examples and ideas that may assist in facilitating your own way forward. The fundamental mantra here is that you only truly understand something when you teach it. A supplementary mantra is that you have license to adapt the frameworks but with the caveat that this will only work if you take the time to genuinely understand. Taking shortcuts is a fool's errand.
