Sales Contracts under the Uniform Commercial Code
The aim of this chapter is to introduce engineers to the Uniform Commercial Code. (It has been reported that many engineering graduates have not even heard of the UCC!) The UCC is organized into Articles, Parts, and Sections. In addition to the articles themselves, the UCC contains extensive “Official Comments” that explain the origin of the articles, including their case law foundations. The focus of this treatment is on Articles 1 and 2 of the UCC. Article 1, titled “General Provisions,” sets forth the overall policies, and some of the basic definitions that apply to the UCC as a whole (with certain exceptions).
