Frequency Response Analysis

10.1 INTRODUCTION

Earlier we have studied the response of a system to step input, ramp input, etc. Since most of the input signals in practice are sinusoidal inputs, in this chapter; we will consider the steady state response of a system to a sinusoidal input test signal. The response will also be sinusoidal for a linear constant coefficient system once the transient die out. The output sinusoidal signal will also have the same frequency as the input signal. However, the magnitude and phase of the output will differ from the input signal once the frequency of the input signal is changed.
