Fitting text to a path refers to binding a line of text to the path of an object. As the text moves along the object's path, it assumes the shape of the path. You can fit text to a path interactively or choose a command from the Text menu.

Using the Pick Tool, select the object to which you want to fit the text. The object must either have a closed path or be a line.

Position the Text Tool on the object's path.
The cursor changes from the Text Tool's normal cross-hair to an I-beam.

Click to place the insertion marker at the desired starting point on the object or line (Figure 12.15).
