As the flow of money into the sport industry increases, and the prestige of sport events increases, the attractiveness of wrongdoing also increases. The theory of convenience suggests that there is a financial motive, an organizational opportunity, and a personal willingness for deviant behavior that cause corruption. This chapter demonstrates the potential of applying the theory of convenience to three case studies of corruption in sport: FIFA World Cup, Berkley coaches, and IBU president.
