8 Reflecting on the Discourse of the Corporate Report

Introduction

Western environmental philosophies underpin and inform the western relationship with the natural world. In doing so, they provide a lens through which to observe and analyse the range of ways those in the West consider, interact with and approach nature. This research has explored the ways in which western environmental philosophy is conveyed through contemporary corporate environmental reports, and what this reveals about the corporate relationship with the natural world. Understanding corporate reporting from this perspective strengthens the existing knowledge of such practices.
