Many teams of behavioral scientists around the world have studied wolf packs. Wolves live in complex social structures that can be likened to human societies to a certain extent.

The interesting aspect about wolf packs in the context of Plasticity is how fluid their structure is. Wolf packs are dominated by a male and female couple called the alpha wolves. The alpha wolves lead the pack on hunts for prey and when there is a need to defend the territory. Being an alpha wolf comes with significant perks. They are the first to feed on prey and maybe even more importantly, they are the ones to breed.
