Introduction
In my humble opinion, nowhere is Murphy's Law more apparent than during location shooting. Mean Mr. Murphy lurks under the conference room table as you interview the CEO. He peeks from behind the curtains in the auditorium as you stream the shareholders meeting. He turns on the refrigeration unit in the soda machine just as you are completing the best take with your on-camera narrator.
Location filming is rife with nuisances just waiting to happen. Through a combination of superb planning, a gaggle of backup gear, and sheer good luck, you can keep Mr. Murphy at bay. Well, maybe at least until you complete most of the day's shots.
