Cathodic Protection of Offshore Pipeline Risers and Associated Equipment

Abstract

This chapter discusses the corrosion protection of submarine pipelines using a combination of high-efficiency coating and cathodic protection (CP). The chapter describes the collection of data through the survey of an existing pipeline or the conditions of the location where a new pipeline is to be installed. In both cases, the collected data relates to the potential of the existing or proposed structure, and the surveys are carried out using remotely operated vehicles (ROVs).
