Abstract

This chapter provides a review of the main protocols and standards used in the construction industry for measurement and verification (M&V) of retrofit projects. Various M&V options have been reviewed. Key drivers for and barriers against M&V are also discussed. Improving energy efficiency of the existing building stock and energy performance contracting are among the key drivers for M&V.
