Chapter 9. Dynamic Chart Formatting and Other Tricks
In Microsoft Excel, there are integrated formats, user-defined formats, and conditional formats. Your Excel may also include what I call “dynamic chart formats.” In addition to reading changing content via controls, as already seen, you can also base the formal design of specific chart elements on changing content. This is mostly what I’ll discuss in this chapter.
Minor examples were already introduced in Chapter 8: There I introduced the “cheating” concept (legitimately and only in the interest of the target group): using hidden data and formulas with elements that are only sometimes visible is one of the most effective options in Excel’s bag of tricks.
