Using Apps to Add “Missing” Features to Your Camera

How do you start building your dream camera? You’ll probably want to start by adding some of the features Apple left out of the iPhone camera:

• Self-timer

• Burst mode

• Antishake option

• Flash and other low-light tools

• Enhanced shutter button

There are two approaches to adding these features. Either you add them piecemeal, selecting narrowly tailored apps that excel in doing one thing and one thing only (for the most part), or you buy a more full-featured, multipurpose app designed to act as a replacement for the iPhone’s Camera app. Either way works, but the multipurpose app option is often preferable, for a number of reasons:
