As you’ve probably guessed, the Timeline is used for animation in your Flash movie. But it also serves other purposes.
A frame can represent not only a fluid moment in an animation as an object slides across the Stage, but also a static point to which we navigate within our movie. In Flash development we use frames for animation, as reference points, and as organizational tools to ease development.
