8. Movies and Music
Support for media, both audio and visual, will hopefully be an essential part of your next immersive Android application. Both industries are ripe for reinvention, and the next media format revolution almost certainly will involve mobile devices. To this end, I’ll get you started with the basics for Android’s video and music libraries in this chapter. I’ll also point out a few things you’ll need to be aware of as you build a background media playback service: movies, music playback, background service, and what to watch out for.
